Australia Post has started to phase out handwritten 'sorry we missed you' cards  (also called "carding") – a change they say is aimed to provide a better customer experience, reduce paper waste, and improve efficiency and convenience.

From 26 June 2023, parcel receivers in Australia who have registered with MyPost will be updated about their parcel with digital notifications. If AusPost has attempted delivery but no one was home, they'll  let these customers know via email, the Australia Post app, or by SMS.

Customers receiving parcels can customise how they receive notifications from Australia Post  within their MyPost account notification preferences, so they receive the information in the way that suits them best.

This change will only affect customers with a MyPost account.  If your parcel has not been successfully matched to a MyPost account, Australia Post will leave still leave a card or, if they consider it appropriate, leave your order in a safe place.

If you have questions about this Australia Post change, please visit the Australia Post website or contact your local post office.
